I formatted my laptop and re-installed the OS - Windows 10 64bit with a copy of Office 2016 (the exact same setup I had previously). I was previously using the vTiger outlook add in with office 2016 32bit w/ Windows 10 and it worked perfectly well. I looked online for a solution and tried the latest version from the official site etc with no joy, but the (very crude) solution below seems to fix the issue. The official vTiger outlook plugin appears to have a compatibility issue with Office 2016.
